The Scriptures

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and are the only sufficient, certain, and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.

(2 Tim. 3:16, John 17:17, 1 Pet 1:22-25, 2 Pet 1:21, 2 Pet 3:15-16, Luke 16:17, 1 Cor 14:37, Isaiah 40:8, Psalm 19:7, John 1:1, John 14:6)

The Scripture

God & The Holy Trinity

There is one God, the Maker, Preserver and Ruler of all things, having in and ofHimself, all perfections, and being infinite in them all; and to Him all creatures owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. God is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being.

(Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)

We do not believe in three Gods, for that will be tritheism. We do not believe in a
God who changes from one form to another, that will be modalism.
We believe the limits of the holy scriptures adequately proclaim One God.

(Matt 3:16-17, 19, 28. 2 Cor 13:14, Eph 2:18., Jn 1:14,18, 17, 24.

Heb 1:2-6, Col 1: 15-17, Jn 15:26, Gal 4:6)

The Father

God is revealed to us as Father. He is not generated and does not come from
any source.

Ephesians 4:6)

The Son (Jesus Christ)

Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, having two natures inseparably united in one divine person without confusion, mixture, separation, or division. Each nature retains its own attributes. He is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man. Having taken upon Himself human nature, yet without sin, He perfectly fulfilled the law; suffered and died upon the cross for the salvation of sinners. He was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended to His Father, at whose right hand He ever lives to make intercession for His people. He is the only Mediator, the Prophet, Priest and King of the Church, and Sovereign of the Universe.

The Son (Jesus Christ)

The Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit is of one substance with the Father and the Son. He eternallyproceeds from the Father and the Son, and He dwells in the hearts of believers, effecting their regeneration monergistically and operating in their sanctification synergistically. The Holy Spirit is also our Helper, Comforter, Intercessor, Teacher and He is theassurance of our salvation. The Holy Spirit desires to fill each believer continually with increased powerfor Christian life, witness and imparts His supernatural gifts for the edificationof the Body and for various works of ministry in the world. We believe all thegifts of the Holy Spirit that were at work in the church of the first century areavailable today, are vital for the mission of the church, and are to be earnestlydesired. We believe the Holy Spirit distributes these gifts according to His own sovereign will. As such, no gift is evidence of a believer’s true faith in Christ or a believer’s superiority to other believers. Humble obedience as empowered by the Holy Spirit is the evidence that scripture outlines for the true believer. We are aware of the dangerous abuses of the gifts of the Spirit and we are determined to ensure that our beliefs about the gifts of the Spirit are regulated by Scripture.

CREATION

Creation

God, by the word of His power, created from nothing the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. He further preserves and governs all His creatures and all their actions according to His most holy, wise, and powerful providence

(Genesis 1:1-31,Hebrews 11:3, Nehemiah 9:6, Psalm 19:1, Colossians 1:16, John:1:1-3, Isaiah 42:5, Psalm 33:6, Job 38:3-41)

regeneration.jpg

Regeneration

Regeneration is a change of heart, caused by the Holy Spirit, who quickens the dead in trespasses and sins enlightening their minds spiritually and savingly to understand the Word of God, and renewing their whole nature, so that they love and practice holiness. It is a work of God’s free and special grace alone.

(Ezekiel 36:25-27,Ephesians 2, 1 Cor 2:14, John 3:1-15, John 6:63, Titus 3:5, Colossions 2:13, 1 Peter 1:3)

REGENERATION

ELECTION

Election

We believe that God’s election is an unconditional act of free grace which was given through His Son Christ Jesus before the world began. By this act God chose, before the foundation of the world, those who would be delivered from bondage to sin and brought to repentance and saving faith in His Son Christ Jesus. This choice was not based on any merit in the chosen but solely because of His mercy. These persons whom He foreknew, He also called, justified and glorified

(Exodus 33:19, Matthew 24:22, Ephesians 1:1-23, Ephesians 2:10, Ephesians 2:1-3, Ephesians 2:8, Mark 13:27, Romans 8:29-30
Romans 9:1-33, Acts 13:48)

providence.png

Providence

God from eternity, decrees or permits all things that come to pass, and perpetuallyupholds, directs, and governs all creatures and all events. He does this in such a way that this neither makes Him the author or approver of sin nor destroys the free will and responsibility of intelligent creatures.

(Isaiah 46:10,

Isaiah 10:5-19, Acts 2:23, Acts 4:27-28, Nehemiah 9:6, Daniel 4:35, Romans 8:28-30, Genesis 50:20,

The Fall of Man

God originally created Man in His own image, and free from sin; but, through the
temptation of Satan, he transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original holiness and righteousness; whereby his descendants inherit a nature that is corrupt and wholly opposed to God and His law. As a result, all men are born in iniquity and are under condemnation through Adam. Their transgression becomes apparent as
soon as they are capable of moral action. Additionally, all men before receiving Christ are dead in their sin and are unable and unwilling to submit to God or come to Christ unless the Holy Spirit enables them to
do so.

The Preservation of Saints

Those whom God has accepted in the Beloved, and sanctified by His Spirit, will never totally nor finally fall away from the state of grace, but shall certainly persevere to the end; and though they may fall through neglect and temptation, into sin, whereby they grieve the Spirit, impair their graces and comforts, bring reproach on the Church, and temporal judgments on themselves, yet they shall be renewed again unto repentance, and be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation

(John 10: 27-28, John 6:37-40, Jeremiah 32:40, Philippians 1:6, Jeremiah 31:31-33, James 1:12)

repentance_edited.jpg

Repentance

Repentance is an evangelical grace, whereby the Holy Spirit convicts a person of the manifold evil of his sin. As a result, he humbles himself for it, with godly sorrow and detestation of it, with a purpose and endeavor to walk before God so as to please Him in all things

(2 Cor. 7:10-12, Mark 1:15, Mathew 3:2, Matthew 4:17, Acts 2:38, 2 Timothy 2:25-26, Acts 17:30, 1 John 1:7-10, Luke 5:32)

REPENTANCE

sanctification_edited.jpg

Sanctification

Sanctification is the process whereby the believer, having been regenerated yields to the Holy Spirit as He conforms the believer to the image of Christ. Those who have been regenerated are also sanctified by God’s word and Spirit dwelling in them. This sanctification is progressive through the supply of Divine strength, which all saints seek to obtain, pressing after a heavenly life in cordial obedience to all Christ’s commands

(1 Thessalonians 5:23, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, John 17:17, Ephesians 5:26,
Ezekiel 36:24-27, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Hebrews 13:12, Philippians 1:6,
Hebrews 10:14)

SANCTIFICATION

justification_edited.jpg

Justification

Justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal of sinners, who believe in Christ, from all sin, through the satisfaction that Christ has made; not for anything wrought in them or done by them; but on account of the obedience and satisfaction of Christ, they receiving and resting on Him and His righteousness by faith

(Romans 5:1, Romans 3:21-28, Galatians 2:15-21, Galatians 3:24, Titus 3:7, Romans 4:24-25,Romans 5:9, Romans 4:1-25)

Judgement

God has appointed a day, wherein He will judge the world by Jesus Christ, when
everyone shall receive according to his deeds; the wicked shall go into everlasting punishment; the righteous, into everlasting life

FAITH

          FAITH

Saving faith is the belief, on God's authority, of whatsoever is revealed in His word concerning Christ; accepting and resting upon Him alone for justification and eternal life. It is caused in the heart by the Holy Spirit, and is accompanied by all other saving graces, and leads to a life of holiness

(Hebrews 11:1-40,

Romans 10:17, Romans 5:1,
Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:21-28)

The Church

The Lord Jesus is the head of the Church, which is composed of all His true disciples, and in Him is invested supremely all power for its government. According to His commandment, Christians are to associate themselves into particular societies or churches; and to each of these churches He has given needful authority for administering that order, discipline and worship which He has appointed

(Hebrews10:23-25, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 4:12, Ephesians 5:23,Ephesians 2:20-22, Acts 2:46-47)

We believe that it is a desire of our Lord that his followers be united, and we will
pursue this unity with other brothers and sisters with all means available to us. This
unity however does not mean a compromising of God’s truth. The foundation of our unity is the truth of God’s word.
